Description

Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology is a diploma and degree granting college located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Over the past 55 years, Centennial College has transformed itself from a local community college to a worldly institution, with a presence in countries such as China, India, South Korea and Brazil.

Our focus has always been on preparing graduates to enter the workforce while teaching our students to be leaders. We’ve worked hard to build lasting partnerships with local communities while preparing our graduates to succeed globally - work we are confident has led to our #1 ranking in the Greater Toronto Area for graduate satisfaction.

Locally, we continue to offer industry-recognized full- and part-time programs at five Toronto campuses. Whether in our classrooms, our labs or the community, Centennial students experience the real world before they even graduate. They're job-ready, and that's a fact employers have told us, as more than 88 percent of those who have employed Centennial grads are satisfied or very satisfied with their hires.

As a leader in internationalization, we’ve done extensive work teaching international students. At the same time, we are enabling more Canadian learners to have an international adventure, be it completing a semester in Spain, an internship in South Africa or a Global Citizenship learning experience in the Amazon Basin.

We believe a Centennial education is an education without borders. We’ve re-created our College, giving ourselves a unique position in the marketplace and the world. We are now prepared for the next set of challenges: To be more innovative and entrepreneurial, to further exploit the benefits of technology, to creatively engage our employees, to build more bridges with communities and employers, and to see our graduates do meaningful work and have meaningful lives.

Oct 17, 2025 - Dec 4, 2025

Centennial College's Customer Skills course prepares first-year students with the essential knowledge and skills to excel in Level 1 and Level 2 technical support roles in helpdesk environments. Learners are trained in user interaction, multi-tier incident management problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, using industry-standard Incident Management help desk applications like LBE Help Desk Software. The course focuses on developing the technical and business skills required for entry-level user support roles. Learners aim to build proficiency in troubleshooting, customer communication, and workload management while gaining hands-on experience working with real-world problems. Employers participating in this collaboration are expected to engage in regular communication with students, provide necessary project information, be present during the final presentation, and offer constructive feedback through the Riipen platform. This feedback will guide learners in refining their technical support and customer service abilities. All employer meetings with learners must be held during scheduled class time on Thursdays at 9:30-10:30 am EST, from October 16 to December 4.

Sep 29, 2025 - Dec 6, 2025

Partner with students in the Occupational Health and Safety Management program as they explore ways to identify hazards, assess their severity by applying various assessment techniques and determine the likelihood they will cause harm. They will also review any available relevant documentation. Through a comprehensive risk assessment, students will evaluate the existing controls for effectiveness and make recommendations for appropriate corrective measures in the form of a detailed plan.   The capstone project draws upon all other courses in the program to enable students to gain an experiential understanding of the real-life applications of occupational health and safety management in the workplace. Integrating the knowledge and skills gained in the program, students will assume the role of health and safety practitioners and inspect a workplace to assess and prioritize risks. List of requirements from the company: Pre-inspection contact interview (30 minutes) with the designated H&S prime (at your convenience) Access to the site for inspection Access to any previous H&S information records (past H&S inspection reports/recommendations, accident/injury reports, hazardous materials information (as appropriate) maintenance reports, safety training records, a copy of an existing floor plan of the facility and/or any other reports that would assist in better understanding the organizations current H&S practices, trends and issues Students would also require permission from their employer to identify, record, and take photographs of potential and actual hazards uncovered during the inspection.   All students participating in the safety inspection will adhere strictly to all safety procedures and company policies.
